Joining a race or a marathon is a fun way of testing and upgrading your running skills. I used to join fun runs for a cause with my friends and classmates back in my college days. Running outdoor is a great exercise and has more benefits than on a treadmill. Though research shows there's not much difference between an outdoor and an indoor run in terms of calories burned, there are other advantages of running or exercising in a natural environment like the ability to adapt to different terrains and weather conditions but most importantly, mental health benefits and well-being.
